Re: Pencils...

Overexposed areas are always a problem. I would recommend to avoid glare and overexposure by shooting with exposure compensation and using RAW format to preserve details in shadows. Method B works best if there is no intersecting objects or abrupt changes of the surface. Method B is based on select...

Re: A flower in the dark

Yes, this one is nice. I would appreciate if you send us some stacks for demo purposes. You can upload it to our ftp server (as described at http://www.heliconsoft.com/ftp-server/). I'd like to take some pictures with a better quality, but the weather is not that nice here in France and flowers get...

Re: My first settings in Macro

You will need Helicon Remote for deeper stacks. Sometimes you will need 50 and more images in one stack and Helicon Remote is a great help in such cases. Yes, you are totally right, but these are my first steps. And Helicon Remote is really of a great help with a big number of pictures; it would be...

Pencils...

Another try to gt used of Helicon Focus. I put a simple white paper under the pencils. I made a try with an aluminium sheet instead of the white paper and tried the stack with method C, 24 shots: the result is not that nice, the reflexion of the aluminium get the algorythm out of the way, the border...

A flower in the dark

Here I am again, playing with Helicon...

Method C works fine...radius and smoothing really depend on the kind of picture you have at hand.
Surely some details to work out, but I'm having a lot of fun...

Re: D800 autofocus for points A and B?

Yep, get the focus on the nearest point then move with the arrows.
For zooming, just click whre you want to focus and... hop, you zoom in...
The preview helps you to zoom in to check that everything is the way you wish.

Re: is there a way to save specific depth maps rendered?

Sorry, there is no way, only printscreen :) Is there a way to freeze the processing so the specific printscreen can be captured? You can freeze it by clicking again on the button "rendering", then proceeding with your software for screen capture; try to use a short cut to open it, otherwi...

My first settings in Macro

Hello guys. I discoverd Helicon Focus few time ago, I tried other softwares but HF seem to be the best one. I'm making some tests on a couple of flowers, to understand how things work. Here's a first macro using the Method C, the one that seem to give the better result, at least in this particular c...
