Intermittent problem saving output

Post by dkperez » 26.07.2014 01:10

I just downloaded Helicon Focus to try. PC running Windows 7, i5-720, 16GB memory. Running HF directly.

Put in a set of jpegs, render it. Works fine. Go to Saving. SOMETIMES it saves fine. Other times I get this:
Failed to write image metadata: e:/20140531/2014-07-25_17-52-01 =M=B R=4 S=4.jpg Failed to open file (a+b); Permission denied (errno=13)

Failed to write image metadata: e:/20140531/2014-07-25_18-03-04 =M=B R=4 S=4.tif Call to <odd character>_wremove' failed: Permission denied (errno=13)

It doesn't happen every time. When I DO get the error, the file still gets saved (at least the one I get with the tif file gets saved) but the color is way off.

I absolutely have permission to save in the folder, and one time it may fail, the next time saving the same rendered file will succeed fine...

Is there some setting I need to change, or am I doing something bizarre?

It looks like something is wrong when saving EXIF and IPTC. Please send us couple of source files so we try to reproduce the problem.

I just tried one of the sets on my desktop. On the first save, it failed with the 'wremove' error. Hit "Save" again, and saved it again as a tif and it worked fine......

Bizarre...

I tried attaching a zip with the 16 jpeg files I'm using, but it must be too large 'cause it never uploads..

I hope the new version comes soon... I"ve got 7 days left on the trial, and at this point I can't save the output at least half the time...

Today, I'm getting the error:
Failed to write image metadata: e:/20140705/2014-08-17_13-45-12 M=B R=2 S=2.tif: Failed to map file for reading and writing: Permission denied (errno = 13)

then, on the next attempt to save I get the popup that Helicon has crashed... Looking at the details it says module ntdll.dll is at fault...

i have the same problem. in my case, the file was in fact saved, but with an incorrect file extension. for example, instead of just "tif," it would be "tif1634," or some other 4 digit number. i went into the file and removed the digits and it was fine. even had the exif data intact. will probably happen again in a few days.
