helicon remote on smart phone

Dear Helicon Master
I have been using Helicon remote at home and it is a fine program. It is , however, very impractical to carry it and tether my laptop in the field, as I am a landscape photographer. With the advent of smart phones , mine is an Atrix 4G,we can now add apps like Chainfire 3D , which can control my Canon EOS 5D Mark II. It would be marvelous if you could create a Helicon Remote App that I can enter in my smart phone.

We are working on Android version of Helicon Remote. I would require USB host connection which is now available on some of the Android tablets (e.g. Acer )

I am looking forward to the Helicon Remote App that is hopefully coming out for iphone soon! I just got an iphone as my Business VoIP Telephone Solution and I can't wait to get all these cool apps!

Will this adapter make my dream come alive ? That would be Helicon Remote on Android smart phones (not Iphone since that is not possible). Do you have any plans for that ?

Hello Stas, I also have been using HF for a few months with great success, but have had no joy with HR, EOS 7D and Windows Vista. I have a Samsung Galaxy S II and was hoping this might work with HR but Android Market indicates the two are not compatible. Will the March android O/S upgrade to Ice Cream Sandwich for Samsung Galaxy SII fix the issue?

Yes, upgrade to Android 4.0 will help but only partially. We have not yet optimized application for small screen devices, till now it is targeted to tablets only.

What is your guess about Helicon Remote on Android 4.0 smart phones for the near future ?
Will it work with or without the usb host adapter ?
Are you able to adjust the gui to the smaller screens ?
If the above is possible, what timeframe would be realistic to expect ?

USB host adapter is a must, that is the only way to communicate with the camera.

As to smaller screens, we plan to do this optimization in the coming weeks.

No exact plans so far as to the phone version. My estimate - a few weeks
