Dark fringe/halo

Post by johndavidson »

Just starting out using this software, and I must say I'm quite impressed. However, I'm having a problem which I suspect is me rather than the software.
Took a series using Helicon Remote. Subsequent processing produces images with some dark fringing around the edges. What's going on here?

I used default processing, changing no settings.

Most likely, something in the way the source images are shot or aligned is triggerring this. We need to see the whole stack of source images to figure out what's going on, can you share them?

Sure. I’ll load them onto OneDrive and post the link if that’s OK.

I’ve also noticed that the effect is reduced if I increase the radius setting.

This is optical effect and stacking is not able to change this. We can only suggest to set smaller aperture to minimize this effect.

Ok. I’ll try it out over the next few days. Thanks for looking.
