Connecting with Samsung Galaxy 7 phone

Post by chpcrvr »

I can connect my Samsung Galaxy S7 smartphone to my Nikon D7200 with a USB cable and everything works fine in Helicon Remote. Can I connect wirelessly? I cannot get a connection. If this is supposed to work, can you point me to some instructions to make the connection. What settings on both phone and camera.
Thanks,
Jeff

Yes, it should work.
1. Run the app.
2. Turn the camera on, enable Wi-Fi.
3. Connect the phone to the camera's Wi-Fi network.
4. Go back to the app. Press "Select a camera". An "Automatically detected camera" item should appear in the list. Tap it to connect.

I can see the camera connect to a smart device but I do not see an automatically connected camera. It does not see any camera detected. Any ideas?

Try the following: go to Tools -> Network cameras -> Add, select Nikon for camera type, enter any name and 192.168.1.1 address. You will see this manually added item under "Select a camera". Turn your camera on, activate Wi-Fi, connect the phone to it. Then switch to the app and click this manually-added entry under "Select a camera".
