Helicon 64 bit slow to start Win 7

I am running Helicon Focus 5.2.16 X64 on my Win 7 64 bit desktop and laptop. The program starts very quickly on the desktop, but takes up to 1-1/2 to 2 minutes to start on the laptop. The laptop is running an intel 2Ghz dual core CPU with 4GB of RAM. During startup, on the laptop, the Helicon Focus logo comes on screen and sits there for a couple of minutes until the program is fully loaded. During this time Helicon is using 50-55% of the CPU and Windows Explorer is using about 25-29% of the CPU. Once Helicon fully opens, Windows Explorer CPU usage drops to 0%. Do you have any suggestions as to what could be going on here.

After writing this, I had to restart the computer due to a Windows update. The problem is no longer present, and Helicon Focus starts normally.

The slow start has re-appeared, and I have determined what the cause is but not the reason for the slow start. If the laptop is put to sleep and then waken up, Helicon Focus will have a very long startup time (1-1/2 to 2 minutes as described in my first post). This does not happen, however, if the computer is started from an "off" state or after a "Restart". It seems that sleep mode does something that causes Helicon Focus to do a lot of searching when starting up if the computer has had a sleep operation. Any help to resolve this issue would be appreciated, as it is a pain to have to restart the computer in order to use Helicon Focus.

Thanks for this new info, we will try to reproduce this bug. Right now, I can only recommend you to try to start "HeliconFocus.exe -notree", this would eliminated one possible place for such bug.

We are now preparing new version. Some bugs were fixed so please wait a bit. I am not sure that exactly this bug is fixed but it is better to continue test with the newest version.
