Stacks are not 100% in focus

Post by Brac01 »

Hope somebody can give me some tips. I am new to stack focus. Basically i have to shoot a lot of Jade artifacts with lots of details which the owner likes to see in the photos. so the jade has to be angled and slanted in order to see the fine details of the carvings, I use Helicon focus to do the stacking . I set the closet and furthest focus. but when i stack them together in Focus and export them as a tiff file and few them at 100% in photoshop or lightroom the images are all soft all the way through.
I am using a Canon 5D Mark III with a 100mm macro lens and shooting in RAW.
Hope anyone can give me some points should i do a manual focus stack.

Please try different RAW converters. In the RAW development settings under Source image list you are able to choose RAW engine and its parameters.
If you still have the problems, please upload your stack to our server (as described at http://www.heliconsoft.com/ftp-server/) and we will see what is happening.
If you are user of GoogleDrive, DropBox, OneDrive or other cloud service, you can upload your files there and send us a link.
