I want to use HF to focus stack landscape images and then blend the output with a shot taken for the sky. I am guessing that the correct method would be to use the shot that is identical to the sky shot at the top of the stack. I need to be able to get my HF output to be identical to the sky shot or my blending gets messy. Has anyone done this before?

Helicon Focus merges focused areas of different images. For example, one image contains focused landscape details, the second image contains focused stars on the sky. Yes, you can merge such images with Helicon Focus.

Helicon Focus aligns images before stacking. But stars are moving constantly, so delay between shots may lead to misalignment of stars.

What I meant was that I want to use HF for my near/far shots and then another underexposed shot for the sky. I solved my own problem by putting the shot that is the same as the sky shot at the top of the HF stack. Thanks.
