This aphid is a composite of 21 focus planes shot with a Canon MPE-65 Macro lens at 5X with a Canon 7D.

Well done! Have you moved focus manually or with StackShot?

Thanks Stas, I changed the focus position manually. Stackshot looks very appealing. Bounce flash was used with a 10 sec delay for reliable flash recharge. Speaking of flash, I'm using the Canon 7D and the flash compensation options seem to be grayed out in Remote. Also even though I have set the camera to use mirror lockup Remote shows that MLU is off. Even if I switch live view off. My preference would be to set the shot up using live view, then turn live view off so that the sensor does not get as warm and generate more digital noise. I understand that not all features will work with all cameras, but I thought that MLU should work if the camera has it.

This looks like a bug. Can you send us a bug report (Helicon Remote menu\Help\Report a bug) after connecting the camera and making one shot?

How'd you get the bug to stay still during your capture?

I would like to draw your attention to new feature in Helicon Remote called burst focus bracketing. It allows to combine serial shooting with continuous movement of StackShot macrorails. This gives very high shooting speed.

Thanks Stas, I now use the stackshot and will have to try this. Sorry for the delay in response as there is no notification that a response has been given. I just happened to be browsing the forum.
