FB Tube with Tamron 90mm

Hi there.
I have just received my FB Tube and have been trying it out with all of my lenses, it works great with the Canon lenses but will only work with the Tamron if I manually adjust the focus while holding down the shutter release button. I configured it as per the instructions (to configuration 3) and the only way the camera will take any images is if I manually adjust the focus, I was hoping it would work in auto as I recently sold my Canon 100 F2.8L. I tried using it configured for Canon lenses just in case that would work, but it didn't. Is it possible for third party lenses to auto focus using the FB Tube or will I need to use Helicon Remote?
