focus problems on canon 5d mark ii

Unread postby rockyracoon » 29.08.2012 07:15

I take macro shots of flowers and have been using the 5D Mark II with canon 100 mm IS macro lens for a couple years... Always sharp and crisp (other than standard depth of field constraints)...
took a couple shots with the helicon software... first few were successful ... but then pics got very bad focus problems... now when I use the camera for standard shots - the pics all come out very soft ... could the software have altered my cameras ability to provide a sharp focus?

Helicon Remote does not change AF settings and we have never received similar complaints before. As far as we know, the only way to change AF is to set AF fine tune value for your lens in the camera. I would recommend to check it.

I have the same lens. You have to be careful which range the AF is set for on the lens. If you are in the wrong range the lens won't focus properly on the camera and Helicon Remote won't be able to properly command the lens.
