Did I wast me money??

Unread postby mitchell » 01.01.2012 17:55

I bought The 64 bit version and I'm not having any luck with it OR the Helicon remote. Im running windows 7 64bit ultimate with 8gig ram.

First I tried the remote...I set my camera on my table with a pop can in front ...went to set the focus point and I keep getting errors saying the program detected error while communicating with camera report a bug if this error persists the program may not function properly until you restart the camera. I am using a Nikon D300 with firmware 1.10... is it the software? am I doing something wrong?

SO then I decided to play with Helicon Focus

I tried it for the first time yesterday with a series of 6 D300 RAW images. The first attempt it just locked up after about 30 seconds. I had to control alt delete to shut it down. Second attempt went a little farther then crashed...AND because I didn't right down what the error said I'm running the same 6 images now...first attempt after about 10 seconds it said Helicon stopped working and when I pressed OK it shut down. and this is my second attempt...AND its HUNG at the bottom it says Reading Source Image...another control alt delete required to force it to shut down.

I'm NOT having any problems focus stacking these same images in CS5. This is getting VERY aggravating

Stas

I cleaned out my CPU...wasn't really dirty but I gave it a quick blast of air.

I downloaded the new version and ran the same 6 files. It gave me an error after about 20 seconds and prompted me to email the results Which I did. BUT after it emailed the results it continued to process the 6 files into a perfect stack. ???

so?? I guess its working? but why the error and crash at the beginning??

Hi there. I can no longer use the debug version. It just keeps crashing. I'll just await the new version you are preparing for me.

New version is installed and 2 6 image stacks have been processed with no errors. Looks great so far. Thanks.
