Thumbnail actualisation

Unread postby amitourlo » 09.08.2008 20:47

I have often the problem in Windows XP: after having treated a picture with Helicon ans saved it as the original name + the extension _hf, Windows forget to create a new thumbnail of the picture and I have to actualise it manually in order to be able to see the correct.
Is this problem coming from Windows or from Helicon ?
Is there a solution to have an automatic actuqlization ?

Thanks

Do you save to JPEG or TIFF? How do you actualize the thumbnail?

In principle, Helicon Filter creates new file and Windows should create new thumbnail for it. But if you save to TIFF file, old thumbnail may be present in the EXIF information.

I save my pictures under JPEG format.

im01.jpg is a screenshot of windows explorer just after having saved the modified picture with Helicon.
im02.jpg is the option in the right click menu that I use to update the thumbnail.
im03.jpg is the results after having actualized.

But I am pretty sure that I am not the only one who have this problem.

This seems to be Windows bug, we can't reproduce it on any of our systems.
