I just tried helicon remote for first time, and I'm happy with the macro photo I took, however when I zoom in on my android tablet, using zoom gesture, the subject jumps to the corner of the screen, and I have to slide it back to the center (if I can find it); this is terribly annoying and time consuming, especially since the zoom gesture is bad about jumping around from 50% to 200% skipping 100% entirely. Am I doing something wrong?

No, you're doing nothing wrong. It's a bug in the app that will be fixed in the upcoming update in the next few days (most likely, tomorrow - we're working on the update right now).
