White balance problem

Post by Andrew »

Hello Helicon community,

I'm shooting jewelry on white background with a Nikon D610 and 105mm macro lens. Manually setting white balance and exposure to keep backgrounds properly exposed and white, however noticing that the white tone of each image captured with remote is different. Some more yellow, some more blue. It is my understanding that with exposure, ISO, and white balance locked I should be getting consistent coloration in the backgrounds throughout the stack. I attached example files below. Grateful for any thoughts or ideas.

I don't know what's causing it, but I can say for certain it's not Helicon Remote that's doing it. Look for the reason in the camera body settings or in the environment. Is lighting the same in these two frames? Natural versus artificial lights can be a huge difference, as well as different kinds of artificial lights.
