Thanks for getting back. I just tried out my 5d iv with my iPad mini. I was not able to get through stacking focus set up before getting no camera connected message. Did I need to download and reinstall my iOS Helicon software? I checked online but saw no update.

One other issue I’m having is with the close and distant focus point settings. I’m getting a message such as “near and far focus points cannot coincide. For my experimentation I’m setting my lens at 70mm f4 to minimize dof. THe blue focus peaking indicators and my live view image do not show any overlap of focus points.

Check the version you downloaded was 3.9.5 and use the smart phone mode not the EOS utility mode.
It worked ok so far on my 80D and iPad mini but I haven’t done an extensive check. Hope this helps.

Thanks! I just checked the App Store and saw the update. Downloaded it and will give it a try soon. Relatedly, where do you find the software version? I previously searched and searched the app for this info to no avail.

Seems I’ve traded one problem for another.

I downloaded the iOS update, used the smartphone connection option on my 5d iv and connected OK. HOWEVER, now when I connect one of two problems occur:
1. All camera control functions are grayed out.
2. Some but not all camera function are active (usually f stop, asa, and sometimes resolution). However when I try to change a setting the setting is not changed on my camera and the control in Remote becomes greyed out, i.e changing fstop from f4 to f8 results in the control being greyed out and no change in camera setting.

I know you guys are diligently trying hard, but this is getting a bit frustrating.

The upgrade works on the 80d but won’t release the camera on disconnecting and closing the app. Very frustrating.

I could only find the version number on the information on the app site, not in the app.

Please send a bug report (menu -> Feedback -> Report a bug) the next time you experience greyed out settings or a similar problem (note that you'll need Internet connection to send the report). Please make sure to add a brief description of what the problem looks like from your perspective (what exactly doesn't work).
As for the Wi-Fi remaining active, we'll look into it.

If you get "Focus points should not coincide", you probably didn't use the <<<, <<, < / >, >>, >>> buttons to adjust focus. That is the only valid way to navigate to the second point after you lock the first one.

Thanks.. Bug report sent.
As for focus point problem - sorry my mistake. I haven’t used remote for a while awaiting getting geared up for wireless with my iPad mini and forgot the proper focus procedure.

Same error, same solution: clear and re-enter the Wi-Fi settings in the camera body, and make absolutely sure no other app connects to it .

Not sure what to reply to my own earlier message. Are you experiencing any problems?

I had some issues with the EOS80D and EOS 5D Mark IV using Android and Windows OS or the Hardware, how is used for. The USB OTG and USB-Link between the EOS and Galaxy-TAB A10.2 and the USB Link to a Windows 10(Lenovo 13 Notebook) does not works successfully. It' seems that the link is lost if the data is transfered at Focus bracketing process. I had attempt several Scenes and the cable solution would be work stable.
I had changed to WIFI and this works pretty nice with both camera Systems. The main fact is that the most cheaper tablets lacks by the available cpu power or the os is lousy implemented. I had moved to an iPad and this works great and is fast enought to handle the Job.
I am not prefered the ddistribution models of Apple but the devices they sells works stable and reliable. I would recomment using an iPad instead Android or Windows to do Focus / HDR Backeting - especialy with the newer models of Canon dslr.
Btw: bracketing with a Windows Notebook works stable too if wifi is used.
