Hi Stas, I have ordered the Nikon FB Tube & look forward to it. One thing I do not understand from the website - if I start at the near point, how to establish beforehand now many shots to take to reach the far point?
Also are the step values the same as in Remote? That would be very useful.
Will you have a separate forum for the Tube one day?

One and the same step value of the tube produces different focus shift, depending on the distance to the object. So it's quite difficult to pre-calculate the number of steps, it's better to experiment in your specific shooting conditions.

The step in Helicon Remote differs from that of the tube, with the following correlation:

for Nikon cameras:
1 microstep in Helicon Remote equals to 3.8 steps of the tube

for Canon cameras:
1 small step in Helicon Remote equals to 5.37 ones of the tube
1 large step in Helicon Remote equals to 61.8 ones of the tube
