Helicon Remote - Sony 7RII

Post by gnnyman »

I know, that question had been raised many times before, but I want to bring it up again - why Sony 7RII?
1. The Sony 7RII has got a small body which is therefore easy to move around
2. Sony uses Zeiss lenses - also for macro (90mm) - they are excellent in performance
3. Sony 7RII uses a vibrationfree shutter (really no vibrations) which is something neither Canon nor Nikon offer - the quiet mode of both, Canon and Nikon is not fully vibration free and absolutely not quiet.
For me, these are good reasons fot you guys to look into adapting Sony for your software..... I normally use a Nikon D800 and a D800e and soon shall be using the new D850... but the vibrationfree shutter of the A7RII is a lock-out feature!

No promises at this time, but we're looking into this camera.

Hi Stas, some good news maybe
https://www.sonyalpharumors.com/sony-al ... are-suite/
The new Sony software shows tethering capabilities and near the Focus button we can see step focus buttons. A7RIII might support this, others not, to be seen, but it opens the door.
