Sigma Manual Focus

Hi All,
As a newbie on the forum, I'm hoping someone can help.

I've recently changed my macro lens from the Canon f2.8 60mm to a Sigma 105mm f/2.8 EX DG OS HSM Macro Lens (also Canon), using a Canon 760D body.

Whereas I had good success with the Canon lens, I find the Sigma focus is hunting and inaccurate when using Remote. I'm currently using it in AF mode. Will Remote work if the lens is in manual focus mode?

Failing that, I would appreciate any helpful advice.

Regards.

The lens has to be in AF mode if you want to be able to adjust focus through software. However, there's very little reason to use the autofocus tool, focusing manually (with the <<<, <<, < / >, >>, >>> buttons) is more precise and could be as fast.
