video recording with D750
video recording with D750
Hi Stas, I have just tried video recording with my D750 from HR on Android with WiFi and after 1 second of video the camera disconnects. I then tried using a usb connection and all was perfectly ok, but this is sometimes not very convenient. It would seem that the problem is at the Nikon end but maybe the event is triggered by HR? I did use a D610 for video with WiFi a long while ago so I will give this a try with the WU-1b.
Re: video recording with D750
OK I have now tried WiFi with the D610 and the WU-1b and HR worked fine when recording video, so now I'm puzzled why the D750 drops out and won't record, any help would be useful!
Re: video recording with D750
Stas I have found a thread for iPad where you say WiFi video recording won't work on the D750 "plain & simple". Well that's a step backwards from the D610! and yes it just disconnects with no message!

Re: video recording with D750
I don't believe this is caused by Helicon Remote. More precisely, we don't understand why this happens so we can't say either way, so we don't have a solution to this problem right now. D750 uses the new generation firmware compared to D610 so it's not a shock that the two cameras behave differently.
Try the Nikon's own app. Does it let you record video? We don't have a D750 to conduct this test ourselves.

Re: video recording with D750
No Stas it's nothing to do with Helicon, I have at last found on Page 288 of the D750 manual -
"Wi-Fi can be disabled by ...... starting movie recording."
I think "can" should be changed to "unfortunately will be"!
I have used a Meike grip and its remote control successfully, so now I have found a workround:
1) Use Helicon to view & focus then press 'record'.
2) The Wi-Fi drops out.
3) Press the Meike remote to start recording!!
Simple??

Have you found the solution of this problem? Because I have the similar and I'm tired of playing with graphics and settings

Re: video recording with D750
As mrose just explained, there is no solution. This behavior is by design, it's enforced by the camera's firmware.
