Helicon Remote works great with my Nikon D800e and my iMac using the usb interface cable.
I attached my D800e usb cable to my Apple Lightning-to-Camera adapter, then to the iPad Air 2.
When turning on the camera, the iPad immediately goes to the Photo Import app, so I know it sees the camera.
When I bring up Helicon Remote, it says "Camera is not connected".
I contacted Apple support and they informed me that as long as I am using the Lightning-to-Camera adapter, the
problem appears to be on the application side and to contact Helicon.
Do I really HAVE to use Wifi to use this app ?
My alternative to to bring my light weight laptop into the field to do my mushroom photography.
I really want to be able to use the iPad for focus stacking control and leave the photos on the camera card.

Never mind....
I found an older post with the reply that HR will NOT work with usb on an IPAD, only wifi (if your camera has wifi).
USB and wifi both work on android tablets.
