Live View Focus Adjust

When focusing the distant point in Live View, the Live View screen goes into a rapid continuous role and the rear focus point cannot be selected or adjusted. I am using a Motorola Droid Turbo running Android. My camera is a Canon 7D MII. My version of Helicon Remote is 3.6.6. What is the problem and what is the solution. Thanks!

The problem is in the camera body's focusing algorithm. It's not a software issue. When invoking AF, pick points with fine detail, like edges. High contrast areas the camera can lock on.
