Having a problem with setting close and infinity

I am trying to set up the close (A) and the infinity (B) way points to shoot between. I am shooting a Canon 7d Markii with a 100 mm Macro Lens. The camera takes the shots but it only takes it of A or B in focus. I clicked on the focus button and I can watch the blue lines move up (like it's going to continue to the B way point) but it just resets itself to A and takes the photos back over again. Please Help!!
