Nikon D5200 - Video Record while connected

Post by ilbulgaro89 »

Hi all,

I have a Nikon D5200 and I'd like to use Helicon Remote software to remotely pull the focus while I'm recording using the cam with my glidecam, in order to not touch directly the camera.

To test the funcionality of the software I have innitially connected the D5200 to my Mac with the USB cable and I tried to star recording a video while I'm live viewing on the Mac screen. Helicon Remote says that my camera do not support video recording while it is wireless connected (I was wired, but i thought that the warning statement was stardard for both the connection, wired and wireless).

Is it true that with D5200 do not support this or is there something (any setting) that can help me?

Many thanks in advance!

Cheers!!!

It's a mistake on our part, sorry. Of course this limitation should not engage with USB connection. Fixed (assuming you're on Mac):

Many thanks in advance.

Can you please confirm If it's possible to adjust the focus from the app while recording with android?

Cool, I'm trying the Android App right now, but I still have 2 quick question:
- is there a way to use tap-to-focus on the preview to focus while recording, or only through the arrows?
- Which is the difference between demo and registered mode for an Android User?

Many thanks

1. Only arrows.
2. You need the license to shoot in raw format. Everything else is available for free.
