Nikon d750
Nikon d750
I have been trying to wi-fi connect my new d750 to my android devices and getting "refused to connect" messages. Now I have found an answer. When I look at the wi-fi details on the android device wi-fi settings, it says the IP address of Nikon-WU2 xxxx is 192.168.1.2. So that is what I put in on the Helicon network setting. WRONG. I then tried the usual 192.168.1.1 (with Nikon WT) and it connects every time! I don't understand why this should be. Maybe this will help others with IOS connect problems?

Re: Nikon d750
192.168.1.2 is the address of the network interface you're exploring the properties of, I. e. it's your Android device's address. The camera's address (at least for Nikon cameras) is almost always 192.168.1.1.
It would be odd if the camera which hosts the network had an IP address that's ahead of the device that connects to this network later. Usually it's not the case.

Stas, the IP address is different for each network. My home hub comes up with 192.168.1.18. Orto had exactly the same problem, posted in Nikon Dxxx and iOS connection troubles 31.8.2015 :
orto wrote:Ok, did that already yesterday:
1. Turned on D750 - Turn on WiFi - Reset Network Settings
2. Connect iPad to WU_xxxx Wifi - Checked IP address (192.168.1.2)
3. Turned on HR - waiting 2 min. no camera shown
4. Select camera -> nothing
5. Add camera:
- Name: D750
- Address: 192.168.1.2
- Type Nikon WT (tried Auto too, same result)
- Confirmed new camera with ADD
6. D750 shown in the Select Camera menu - select D750 - connect -> ERROR

Re: Nikon d750
Your home network is irrelevant. The default connection method for WU-1/2 and built-in Wi-Fi adapters is that the adapter hosts its own ad-hoc network, assigns itself the 192.168.1.1 IP address, and then the clients connects to this dedicated network.
What you mentioned would be true IF you were to connect the camera to your existing home/office net instead of creating a new one. But I don't even know if WU modules support this mode. WT modules do.
