Helicon Remote 3.3.7 Crashing on Mac

Post by Larry-Pollock »

Hi,

Just upgraded to the new version and purchased an unlimted license. Crashes on 2nd or 3rd shot in sequence and now even when taking single shot. Latest Mac OS, restarted 13" laptop. Still crashing.

Shooting Canon 5D MIII with Tether Tools cable.

We're looking into the problem. Meanwhile, go to Preferences -> Image saving and choose to leave images in the camera. See if it helps.

Had the same problem with a 5D MK III tethering to a Macbook Pro running Mavericks 10.9.4. Crashed when making exposures. Resorted to an older version of Remote (3.2.6) via my Time Machine backup and everything is working fine with no undetectable errors.

I may need to do the same if I can find an older copy... (Download Links Admin? )

Between jewelry shoots so I have a bit of time. Thx

We know for a fact 3.2.6 has the same issue.
Try the new version we're currently working on: http://www.heliconsoft.com/downloads/He ... te_340.dmg

I can confirm that this new version is working for me. I can load RAW images from my 5D MIII to my MacBook Pro and use Focus now.

Images coming out a bit dark compared to the shots once stacked...

Do you stack RAW images? Then inspect your RAW development settings.

LOL, I have been but will see about Lrg Jpg instead. No need for RAW since the image we will process after stacking is a jpg or tiff.

Thanks for the reminder... So use to shooting in RAW

Found a small issue with this version. I save and try to paste in a file name into file name field but pasting is not active.

I can place my cursor in the field and delete or type in but not paste in.

Just and FYI

Do you mean file name in Helicon Remote preferences -> Image saving? I've just tried it, works no problem.
