WU-1a Problème Connection With Windows 7

Post by clav0 »

WU -1a with Nikon D7100, Windows 8, Windows 7, Android

I submit this problem because I cannot find any solutions.

Android on Tablet Acer Iconia A1 WU -1a is well recognized by HR and everything works fine. (Except problem in Live-View and Autofocus caused by D7100).

With Windows 8 everything is OK: (Except problem in Live-View and Autofocus caused by D7100).
WU -1a is well recognized by Windows 8.
Found in the list of available networks “Nikon_WU_21131118”.
Clicking on this network connection, the connection is usually established:
We launch HR 3.2.0 , select a camera , we Mark D7100 and the green LED on the WU -1a binds green and blinking with data transfer, the camera is detected, everything is OK.

Windows 7 with no recognition of D7100 by HR 3.2.0:
WU -1a is well recognized by Windows 7.
Found in the list of available networks "Nikon_WU_21131118".
Clicking on this network connection, the connection is usually established:
We launch HR 3.2.0, select a camera, we Mark D7100 and the green LED on the WU -1a freezes green, the D7100 camera is not detected by H R.

HR in the definition network camera is the same for Windows 8, Windows 7:
Name D7100, Address 192.168.1.1, Auto Type
Attached logs of the connection.

Hello,

First of all, we've fixed the zoom / AF problem. You should receive an update soon on Android, and probably tomorrow on Windows.
As for the Wu-1 error: no idea what's causing it. The connection has been established, but then - communication error. Have you tried rebooting this computer?

Hi,

For WU-1a, this problem has been studied over several days. I made several reboot and also I updated the drivers for the wireless card "Realteck 8185 Extensible 802.11b/g Wireless Device".
One question: can you tell me if the WU-1a works well with H R on Windows 7 with a Nikon D7100 or other camera? This could confirm that it's either my Windows 7 or the wireless card that is in question.

For autofocus with the D7100 HR is great, I look forward to test it.
thank you very much.

We can't say, we don't have a D7100. But there shouldn't be any reason why Windows 8 works and Windows 7 doesn't. It's either software (drivers) or the network hardware (card), but not Windows itself.

Hello
As you said:
"There should be no reason why Windows 8 and Windows 7 running does not work. It's either the software (drivers ) or network hardware ( card), but not Windows itself. "
I tried to test the driver side and equipment by purchasing a USB WIFI: TL- WN725N Ver 2.0 TP-LINK Model.
Driver and hardware installs easily on Windows 7 and Windows 8. The drivers are recent and WPS works perfectly, allowing to recognize the " WU-1a " on Windows 8 and Windows 7 is following two modes of security, " open system , WPA2-PSK "
I did the tests with the same USB TP- LINK on :
. Lenovo laptop Yoga 13 with Windows 8;
. Desktop with Windows 7 64bit;
. Another Desktop with Windows 7 64bit.

I confirm the proper functioning of HR with Windows 8 and the malfunction of HR with both Windows 7 Desktop.
I have exactly the same problem as previously described and log HR is identical.

This suggests that the functioning of HR and Windows 7 has a problem with the WU-1a.
To go further in solving this problem should certainly consider the dialogue between HR and the WU-1a.
I do not have software to do this analysis, but I am at your disposal.
All the best

If you can capture and send us network communication logs - that would be great. The go-to software for this is Wireshark (it's free): http://www.wireshark.org/download.html

Capturing process should be straightforward: open Wireshark, find a green "Start" button in the upper left side of the window, below it find a list of network interfaces available. Select the relevant wireless adapter in the list and press Start. Then run Remote, attempt connection, wait for the error to occur and press Stop. Then press Ctrl+S to save results and send it to us. We'll need you to capture both successful communications from Win 8 and unsuccessful from Win 7, that way we can compare the communications and see the difference.

Hi,
Ok I made the logs under Windows 7 and 8.
I grouped the logs in a zip file.
Thanks

We have studied the logs, and still couldn't understand why it happens. The communication just stops, cuts out at some point very shortly after establishing connection.

Hi,
From your answer I understand that my problem can only expect a solution from you.
But I am wondering if you or someone on the forum could do a test and answer the question:
HR Windows 7 with a WU-1a or and WU-1b with compatible Nikon camera works?

Me on my side I can only assert that HR Windows 8 or Android with WU-1a and a Nikon D7100 works perfectly.

Thanks

Hi,
I throw again my question because I am surprised and amazed that nobody on this forum is able to do a test and answer the question:
HR works with a Nikon with a WU-1a/1b on Windows 7?
Thank you in advance to anyone who can give this answer.

It works, we've corresponded with at least one Windows 7 Wu-1 user.
