Remote and Studio Strobes

I am working with Helicon Remote and a Canon 5D MK II. When shooting the software puts the camera in "live view mode" and in that mode the studio strobes will not fire and I need to light with the strobes. The strobes are fired with Pocket Wizards. Canon says that only there own "on camera' speed lights will can fire in live view. Is there a way to set the software to shoot with the live view off? Any other ideas?
