tethered with immeidate review

I have been using Helicon Remote for focus stacking, works great. Now I want to use it to replace my laptop at photo shoots, which means to tether with immediate review: every time I shoot (from the camera, not HR), shortly after I should see the image on the tablet screen.

So I figured out how to tether, and HR copies the image on to the sdcard when I take a picture with the camera, but how / what do I configure to get the picture on the tablet screen automatically?

I shoot RAW. Could shoot RAW+JPEG if this would help. Nikon D5100, Toshiba Thrive latest version of Android (3.2.1.33.5.0005), latest version of Helicon Remote.

Thanks.

We do plan to implement a viewer which will be used to review images. This functionality is not available yet but it will be soon implemented.

Thanks! This would make Helicon Remote the "killer app" for Nikon shooters. The other tethering options for Android aren't too good, and combined with stacking it would be everything one would need.

I'm very eager for the immediate review viewer feature. Anything available yet?

I've been testing Helicon Remote for a few days with a Nikon 5100 connected to a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. I've generally been pleased, especially when shooting images for focus stacking. Also, HR seems to have all the features needed for general tethered shooting in the studio or on location except for the missing viewer feature, which seems like a show-stopper for that application.

For several months, I've been using NKRemote on my laptop. For focus stacking, HR is way ahead of NKRemote, in terms of both interface and capabilities. It seems like focus stacking was, for NKRemote, an afterthought. HR would be better for general tethered shooting, too, if a good immediate review capability were added. When that is available, I would love to use HR to switch from my laptop to my tablet and would recommend it for anyone shooting tethered.

We haven't made a viewer yet, but rest assured we'll add it very soon.

Truly excited about the tethered viewer. Shoot tethered at all major sessions. Eye-Fi doesn't work for me. I shoot a Canon 5D. Any chance you will support this old body?

I'm afraid not, Remote doesn't support it.

I just added HR to my Toshiba thrive, I have a Nikon d5100 I purchased a HDMI mini to normal sized cable to go from the camera to the tablet but HR doesn't seem to find the camera. Do I need a different cable?

Yes, you need to connect the camera via USB (with OTG adapter if your tablet doesn't have full-size USB socket).

Is there any progress for the image review feature? This would be a really cool addition.

Unfortunately, we had to change our priorities and concentrate on other tasks first, so the viewer didn't receive the attention it needs yet. But now it's a high priority task for us and we hope to begin active development very soon.

I also need the tethered review mode, w histogram. This is the mode I would actually use most of the time. The sooner the better, mahalo.

Sorry to nag, but this is a key feature for me too.
Perhaps there is a workaround? Is there a jpg viewer app that would show the newest file in a folder the way Adobe Bridge does?
