helicon remote crashing with Nikon D3

Post by gwadelaw »

I downloaded a trial copy of Helicon Focus and Helicon Remote to evaluate. However, Helicon Remote crashes everytime it tries to connect to my Nikon D3. I am running Windows Vista 64-bit. I power the camera on and start Helicon Remote. It recognizes the camera, starts LiveView and then immediately crashes. I set the D3 to take the smallest JPEG setting thinking my the demo software needed the small file size but it still crashes everytime. Any suggestions on how to proceed?

Please unzip this new version of Helicon Remote into Helicon Focus folder:
http://www.heliconsoft.com/downloads/HeliconRemote.zip

If you encounter errors, please send us Helicon Remote logs (see menu\Preferences\Tools).

Hi Stas,

Problems with the Nikon D3 solved. Helicon Remote requires the latest firmware update for the camera (version 2.02 for the D3). you probably want to make a note to users that they should update their firmware to the latest rev if they are having problems.
