Most probably Nikon libraries do not yet support your camera. We will update the program as soon as Nikon publishes new SDK.

thanks but do you really have a idea of how long it would take to have it?

The latest SDK was released by Nikon in April, 2010 as far as I remember. A new one should be released in the coming months, I suppose. We will add support for it as soon as Nikon Camera Remote have it.

My understanding is the last version of Nikon Remote (released in November) has D3100 support.

It also has D7000 support, which is what I am currently using since the Helicon Remote product just crashes on the D7000.

We added module for D7000 but D3100 is not listed as supported by Nikon SDK, so I doubt that the program would recognize it. We are now checking D7000 problem.

also, Stas Yatsenko, i have a program that do recognize almost every models including the d3100 but currently it have a very bad GUI...

If i provide you the program in PM or e-mail, you could take some advantage of it and add some support over these models... What do you say?

PS: If is something ilegal i'm sorry

Cheers

This is where I downloaded the current version of Nikon's Camera Control Pro 2 software:

http://www.nikonusa.com/Nikon-Products/ ... Pro-2.html

It works fine with the D7000 and I believe the D3100 as well. I'm using it to manually take focus brackets for stacking. When the trial runs out I might purchase it and return Helicon if Helicon Focus isn't able to support the D7000. I'm optimistic Helicon will get this fixed soon.

I hope we will get our D7000 soon and will be able to fix this bug. Nikon releases its Nikon Remote program before SDK is published and they surely know better how their cameras are working. We have to learn it from trying and failing. Anyway, if it works with Nikon, it will work with Helicon Remote too :)

Links to other programs: please send us the links, there is nothing illegal to have a look at competing products :)

It looks like the script uses Nikon SDK so there is not much new we can learn from it.
