Focus Bracketing Correction Factor

Hi there,

I am using a Canon 5D MkIV with the Canon 24-105 mm zoom.

I am trying to establish the correction factor as per instructions here:

https://www.heliconsoft.com/HeliconRemoteHelp/english/HeliconRemote.html#HR_CORECTION_FACTOR

However, the DOF calculator using a correction factor of 1 doesn't seem to be anywhere near correct.

Using the SWAG method, I can get a good quality stack by taking 10 shots with a Depth of Field (in focusing steps) of 3.2.

That is with these parameters:
Aperature: 8
Focal Length: 24
Distance to near object A: ~2.5'
Distance to far object: B: ~25'

However, in order to get the depth of field calculator to show me 10 shots with 3.2 focusing steps, I have to set the correction factor to 0.04!

If I leave the correction factor at 1, I get 2 shots at 80.2 focusing steps which is no where near right.

I am shooting landscapes.

Am I doing this right?

Thanks,
Ric

Yes, I don't see any problem in your description, if the factor needs to be 0.04 - so be it. That is exactly what the factor is for.
