Live view exposure is different than final video recorded

Post by shishirnssiri »

Hi,
I have been recording videos using Helicon remote. I have noticed the live view exposure is not accurate or does not match up to the final video output that is recorded. Meaning, in live view the scene looks underexposed by ~1 stop where as, after recording the video, It will look over exposed. Not sure why this is happening. I use a 5D MKIV with default settings. I have tried playing the video on VLC & Windows media player, both have the same results.
Any help is appreciated.

Regards,
Shishir

This is a function of the camera body, we don't affect this in any way. Check that live view exposure simulation is enabled in the camera body settings.

I discovered that these symptoms can also occur if the Live View button is inadvertently set to Video rather than Camera. (Forehead slap)
