in preferences there is a tick box for captions i assume this refers to iptc data entry I thought the caption would appear below the thumbnails but it does not seem to work not sure if this is a bug or the caption tick box is for somthing else
it would be very helpful if you explain this

You were right, caption option is for showing file names below thumbnails. And it works this way in our current version. We are going to publish new version in a few days so if this bug is present in your version, please wait for update.

You know what would be really great? If we could define what fields were included in the caption :)

You mean, that you want to see the name or some exif information? Makes sense, something like "1/100, f2.8" means more to me than "DCS_2397". Good point!

Yes, EXIF would be great (and why not IPC too?), and in fact any of the other textual information.

When I thought of it I just imagined that the user could define a string with tagNames that can be substituted: "@IPTC_ObjectName [@EXIF_ExposureTime @EXIF_FNumber]"

Extra points if you do a "@EXIF_ImageDescription" mouse over for the thumbnails :wink:
