Photo Safe not recognising camera

New postby nedyr » 24.07.2010 10:12

I have Photo Safe 2.5 and have an issue with the program not recognising my camera. Trying to upload images from my Canon Powershot the Image Importer 1.3 does not show the camera as an option. When trying to view the camera's content using file explorer in Photo Safe although the camera is shown as a drive nothing is shown when clicked on. The camera has a USB connector and shows up with no problems as a drive in Windows Explorer. Adobe Photoshop Elements also picks it up and imports images with no problems at all.

Anyone any ideas of what the problem may be with Photo Safe?

Thanks

John

Hello John,

We will check this issue. Are the files located in the root folder or in subfolder?

Thanks for the reply.

The pictures are in the root folder. The camera shows up in Explorer as Canon Powershot but is not given a drive letter. The photos are available from Explorer, however, can be moved, copied and viewed. Photo and Scanner Wizard also works fine. Adobe Photoshop Elements picks it up for automatic transfer but I notice that Imagewalker sees the root but crashes with a runtime error when the root is clicked on. Photosafe simply does not see the camera - I think because it is not given a drive letter. Only my drives show up in Photo Safe inport wizard.

Any help appreciated.

Regards

John

John,

Yes, right now Photo Safe recognizes only cameras that are visible as a drive. We will add support for connected devices in the next versions.
