Best Computer to work with HF

Post by mtorre2006 »

Hello Stas,
until now I have worked with HF using a computer with Intel Centrino Duo processor and 3 gigabytes of RAM, unfortunately, this configuration does not allow me to work directly with RAW files because it is too slow (I elaborate hundreds shots and before I have to convert them in TIFF format), so I'm thinking of changing the computer with a more powerful one, before to buy it I would like to know what is the best configuration to work with HF, in particular how much RAM the program needs to work fast with RAW files.
The new computer I would like to buy is equipped with an Intel I7 and 8 gigabytes of RAM (maybe 16 Gbytes).
Thanks in advance

Your new computer would be a good choice for RAW conversion. You may also consider SSD instead of usual hard drive, disk operations are also important part of file handling. Helicon Focus uses hard drive to cache RAW images while processing stacks.
