Suddenly a problem with "frame"

Unread postby pfgbel47 » 26.03.2007 08:07

Hello,
I'm licenced user of the Helicon Pro and uses it with enormous satisfaction.
However I encounter a problem today, regarding "frame" where abnormal colours appear though the background of the pic is absolutely black at that place on the original (so well in NEF source as in JPEG Photoshop source).
I do not understand what's happening...A screen copy is joined here so that you can see yourself (corner up left).
Could somebody please help me very quickly because I need this pic today (promised to someone...!).
Thanks in advance !!
Pol

Sorry it's so late... I've never noticed this. Maybe a screenshot of the frames tab would help.

Anyhow, it looks like there is some error which makes the upper-left corner different. Does this happen on any other pictures with black in that area?

PROBLEM WITH "FRAME"

Unread postby pfgbel47 » 27.03.2007 09:24

Hello Ariel, thanks for your reply.
I never encountered this problem before even with other pics with black background (you can have a look on my photo-gallery at my site: http://users.skynet.be/pfg)
Anyway I add here 2 screenshots so that you can see what is happening.
Dan sent me an email yesterday and said it could be a black overflow in the software, I do not know at all...
Thanks again for trying to help me !

To Ariel:
I checked deaper about the described problem, and I realize it happens with other pictures too, often with all of those having a black background but not all.
Hope this will help !
Thanks again,
Pol

Just seen this post, have tried the same settings on the frame tab, with a couple of
my images, and I see the frame shadow which you have set, I don't see one on your screen capture.

Very strange! I use HF for all my pp'ing, never seen this happen before.

I think I would remove and then reinstall HF, maybe it has been corrupted somehow.

Frame Function Problem

Unread postby pfgbel47 » 01.04.2007 07:46

Hi Kentel, thanks for your message, the pics I posted are all "screencaptures", move to the right of the whole screen and you will see the settings I chose (almoast always the same...).
If it can help to find a solution, I'm ready to post the source image under the form of a jpeg file so that you can try and experience by yourself if it also happens. Just let me know...
Thanks anyway !! **Pol**

"Frame" parameters problem

Unread postby pfgbel47 » 02.04.2007 09:11

Hello,
I didn't stop trying to identify the parameter which causes the evocated problem I encounter. The parameter which has a direct impact on the problem is only "background brightness" (in the "frame" parameters) because if selecting 100% nothing special appears, it starts when selecting 115% where it becomes visible, and if you go to 160% (the tones harmony I want for the balance of the pic) it gets unusable !
I'm afraid Dan could be right when he says it could be a "black overflow" !
So I'll wait for a while till a newer version corrects this...
Thanks to you all for the help you offered to me !

We've already fix this bug.
We used some nonlinear function to change the brightness. In some cases it creates such problems. So we switched back to linear brightness. Please wait for the next version.
