Saving Projects or outputing .PST w/ masks

Unread postby phero66 » 10.02.2007 16:38

I just bought the software and found the results quite good but I am spending about 2-3 hours per image in the retouching tab and I cannot find a way to save my progress and then come back and work some more where I left off in editing.

Is there a way to save progress and come back later? Or even better, include layer masks in the photoshop .pst file so that I can edit back in areas that are getting lost in the stack?

Thanks,

-John

hi John,

your retouching and other work is automatically saved. Even after closing the program and restarting it or the PC, it will re-create your previous edits (they are not visible in the source-tab however).
No masking however.

John,

You probably mean Helicon Focus, not Helicon Filter.

Indeed, Helicon Focus does not save retouching changes between sessions. No solution so far, sorry.

Dan,

How about an option to output all the processed images as independent files? That way I could open the final processed image in Photoshop, and then add each individual image as layers (allowing me to paint back the details). I like the ability to retouch in helicon focus, but not being able to save my progress makes it really difficult to work on very detailed stacks (I'm doing 40+ images at .5mm steps).

Thanks,

-John

In the coming (2-3 weeks) version you will be able to save all layers and then combine them in photoshop.

Dan,

I'm really excited to hear this good news! As a recent 1 year PRO subscriber am I entitled to the update or do I need to buy the "unlimited" license?

Thanks

You can update the program if your license is still valid. One year license is valid during one year from purchase date. Give me your name if you do not rememeber what kind of license you have.
