Helicon Filter accepts only files with RGB color space. Internally the image may be converted to YCrCb colorspace.

Is it possible Dan to include adobe RGB 1998???
This is the working space of a lot of photographers that make giclée prints or work on assingments!
As you know it render a grater amount of tones values compare to rgb that has a veru limited range!

Thank You

We are talking about different thing.

I meant RGB, LAB, CMYK and other color spaces.

Helicon Filter fully support color profiles that are often embedded into RAW or JPEG files. You can also assing/convert from one color profile to other (e.g. sRGB->Adobe RGB)

Sorry I misunderstood!

(I was having a deception about not having anymore adobe rvb 1998, but that is not the case)

By the way LAB is also very much used!

Can you assign cymk or other non-adobeRGB color spaces?
In Inkscape, when you adjust the color of an object, you can choose to adjust it in the different color space methods. Would it be possible to implement something similar into Helicon Filter?

I think it is right to call CMYK, RGB, LAB, XYZ color spaces and
sRGB, Adobe RGB 1998, Canon RGB - color profiles.

We do not plan to support multiple color profiles in Helicon Filter. Normally one needs CMYK to prepare image for printing and wants to make color proofing, make sure that no colors are lost during color space conversion.

Lab is normally used for some tricky image operations like sharpness to process only brightness channel and leave color channel intact. Helicon Filter uses LAB internally but I do not want to make it available for user - this will make the interface much more complex.

Hello Danylo,

Just want to let you know tha the lab mode is being more and more used now from expert amateurs and pro for what you mentionned in terms of control!

I have seen a lot of post-processing workshops that push image tweaking through lab mode in photoshop for greater results on prints! (defenitely artefacts are really better controled)
The recent digital photography books from well known digital photographer are also pushing this mode!
Friends photographer are more and more going with this mode and asking me if helicon aloow it!

Anyway...I understand it would make the software slower and ressources consuming..but it was just to let know that the availability of lab mode is more in demand now from amateur expert and a most important feature as they get use to this mode! !

Actually part of operations in Helicon Filter are performed in Lab mode.
We internally convert the image to lab and then back to RGB.

But we do not save files in this mode and cannot open files in Lab mode.
