Bought new computer AND

Unread postby Steve » 06.07.2008 14:29

Hello.
I have purchased a used PC ( Quite high spec )
Anyways...it has Helicon Focus 4.48.4 in programs. The last user must of used the trial ?????
I bought it from a fellow photographer.

So when I open it it says something like
"This is the free version and a watermark will be displayed on images"
and that I can use it free as long as the watermark stays in place.

How do I fix ? Uninstall ? Remove with regedit ?
My intention is to put the paid version in the PC.
I have downloaded a new trial version to test this software but it comes up as free with the watermark thing.

Helicon must of logged a file in the registry ? If so how do I get rid of the nag so I can test this. ?

PS: I have been a combineZM user for ages and this looks sort of decent
but I will have to test it.

Regards Steve

Does anyone moderate this forum ?
Is there any admin out there to answer ?

Maybe CombineZM will have to be the one to use.
Its free.

I was hoping to develop some macro shots tonight and if I could of used this software it would of been nice but no-one has answered the question I posted all day.

If anything goes wrong with the proggy after you buy it is help and backup this quick as well......? :(

Steve,

Trial period is over so you cannot test the program in trial mode. But you can test it on different computer or you can test it on virtual machine (Virtual PC, VMWare).

Hello.
This is the only PC I have !
Where does the reg key sit that plants itself in there ?
If you tell me that I will remove the key and try the trial !
Or I can restore the PC to a month ago I suppose.

More help needed if poss !
And a virtual machine is something I do not want to do.

Don't worry you know I only want to see the results that I can produce and if it is as good as you make it out to be I will buy it.

Sorry, you can't reset trial period. At least we use protection system so that users cannot reset trial period and use the program unlimited amount of time in this mode : )

Free version has the same functionality as a Lite version except of demo text on the resulting images. But you cannot test Pro features such as retouching brushes and animation generator.

Thanks Dan.
So now I must ask you how to COMPLETELY remove the programmer.
Add / Remove programmes obviously leaves traces or reg keys in the computer.
If I can not try I can not buy !
But in the same breath I do not want to be infiltrated with remains of a programme that hosts in a users PC and is there without invite.

Are you then saying a TOTAL FORMAT is what is required to remove such software that invades a users PC ?
Or do you want to tell us where the file / reg-key is located.

Your product sounds good but then again it is expensive !
Can you say that it is way ahead of CZM ?
In comparison to CZM what is better about your software when there's is Free ?
I must ask...because I obviously can not try it.

Steve,

EVERY shareware program with trial period leaves a mark on your computer. It can be a small file or key in the registry.

I will mention some features of the Pro version and you can check if CZM has the same:

- brushes to clone from aligned original layer to the resulting image
- 16 bit internal pipeline, even 8bit JPEGs are internally converted to 16 bit to avoid pasterization
- ability to process 16 bit tiffs and many raw types directly
- high performance
- support of large images ( up to 70Mp)
- generator of web animations like http://www.heliconsoft.com/animation/Kr ... index.html
- micro panorama
- batch processing
- license for Helicon Filter included

About quality and interface you can judge from your free version.

Steve, all you have to do is buy a copy and then use your key to register Helicon Focus and you will have the full version.

Or you can just go into Add/Remove programs and remove Helicon Focus. (If there is a newer version of Helicon Focus than the one on your computer I'd assume it'd also reset the trial period.)

I don't understand what the issue is here.
