Re: error on saving image

i'll try the psd, though the tif would better suit my purposes. however, in my last run the tif i got was a very tiny file, completely useless, and i had to start from the beginning. this seems to happen only when i stack the raw files, not when i stack the jpgs. but i only had about a dozen files i...

Re: camera focus constant, move camera... or use focus ring?

i use the focus ring when shooting with a small aperture and move the camera/lens along my rrs rail when the lens is more open. that's because the open lens requires far more slices, which is hard to do with focus ring adjustments. both methods give good results. vibrations can be minimized by using...

Re: error on saving image

i am using the "TIF" format option when i save the hf output, not "TIF LZW." would it be better to use the "psd" format option?

over-brightened raw files

i am shooting with a canon eos 5d mark II, set at raw + fine jpg. when i open a raw file in hf, it is automatically brightened to the point where it is useless, even when i have turned off the brightness adjuster. when i open the jpg it looks fine. this happens even if i open a single image, and the...

Re: Problem

this looks like brightness variation when you are shooting. i get this all the time, as i use only natural lighting. the only way to fix it is by retouching.

Re: Flower landscapes

speedwells are gorgeous little things. here is one i captured this spring in athens, ohio. canon mark 2 with an mp-e 65 mm. as i recall, this was about 2.5x magnification. i had enough slices to get the back petal, but decided to leave it out. it's difficult to deal with the edge confusion when you ...
