Re: Loading Depth Map?

There is no way to import the depth map back. But you can use another trick. Go to the Retouching tab, select the first image and copy the backgroung from it. Internally the program will also update depth map the same way as you tried to do.

Re: System Requirements (Screen Size/OS/SD Card Installation)

Yes, you can install the program from any media including flash card. We check design to fit into 600 pixel screens. I am not sure if the current version does, but the coming will fit for sure. You are welcome to install and evaluate the program before purchase.

Re: AF Calibrator

We are not very happy with calibrator too. The first reason is that it is not possible to know if camera made step or not. In our tests with both Nikon and Canon cameras, both of them sometimes miss steps presumably due to mechanical issues. If the camera misses steps, the calculations in calibrator...

Re: D300 NEF problems

We tried but were not able to reproduce the bug with your files on 10.5.8. Do you run Helicon Focus in 32 or 64 bit mode? Does it happen if you add the first file after Helicon Focus launch or after adding more files? Please send us console log after the image is not added (Applications\Utilities\Co...

Re: Mirror Lockup

Yes, Helicon Remote support MLU during shooting. You should select this option in the camera settings and enable option in Helicon Remote preferences for Canon cameras.

Re: Olympus E520 user

We know for sure that only the recent Canon and Nikon DSLRs provide interface to control lens remotely. It is not a question of mechanics, rather it is a software issue.

Re: Brightness variation message and overexposed result

I would need this stack to understand the problem. Helicon Focus uses the first frame to adjust brightness of other images. If all of them are shot with manual exposure, the brightness should be the same. You can upload your stack to our ftp server as described at http://www.heliconsoft.com/ftp.html

Re: Olympus E520 user

Generally speaking we can use any camera that provides SDK for such a function. Right now we know only about Canon and Nikon SDKs to be able to do this.

Re: Focus Stacking shot time interval

I think that I've read a post in this forum a couple of weeks ago that it is possible to use non-canon flashes without leaving Live View. But I can't find it now.

Re: Suggestion - Manual input of focus steps

Brian, Yes, you can enter the any of two main parameters (number of shots, distance between shots) manually. I would suggest you to focus on the nearest point, define distance between shots and set number of shots to 999. Then you will abort shooting when you see that the camera reached farthest poi...
