Well, like I said, it did win second place at the BetterPhoto.com photo contest for December. Thanks! :D Equipment: I used my Fujifilm S5200, without (I think) flash, and an Opteka macro add-on lens (probably +8 or +10 diopter), 1/100s, f/3.3, 83mm equiv. zoom, ISO: 200. (Now I use HOYA macro lenses...

Planthopper

Here is a picture I took of a Green Planthopper. Note the improvements made to the picture using Helicon. (Watermarked for protection.) (Second place winner at BetterPhoto.com's photo contest)

It looks like in the original the snow is a bit distant from completely white. Since digital images contain more information when lighter, it would be better to only slightly underexpose the shot for the original. Still, good job editing.

I've been thinking about it, and it seems that sometimes the noise reduction, if set to really high values in the "standard method", make the image kind of appear to be a sketch. I'm worried that if I apply a small amount of noise reduction, this sketchy look will show up if you look close...

Helicon Focus blends partially focused images. Helicon Filter can make HDRs. After you download the trial for Helicon Filter, locate your darkest image, open it, click the HDR button at the top of the program (or press Ctrl+D), click OK, find the next brighter image, and repeat.

Well, you wouldn't have to worry about setting your anti-spam settings so high if you wouldn't put your complete email address online, as this is one of the main ways spammers get address. Maybe if you make new address, you could write the address as an image file and allow people to contact you thr...

Hey, I finally got around to going through the thing you wrote. I'm still having trouble, though. I opened a file using zoomifyer ez. Then, in the folder it made, I copied zoomifyViewer and Template. I changed the address in "template" to DSCF1617.jpg (image name). But when I opened templa...

If some of the images aren't aligned, Focus can align them while combining them. The percentages of the adjustment values tell the program the most it should look for misalignments. Higher numbers make the program slower, so unless two images are really misaligned, you should keep the numbers pretty...

Dale, don't worry about it. I know Dan to be extremely helpful and responsive. He was out of town a couple weeks back for a while, and now he is probably busy with the holidays. Just check out the past posts by Dan . He was much more active in the forums two months ago than he was in the past month,...
