Re: Android tablet recommendations

Sorry, keeping track of this is an impossible task, especially because the same device may ship with different Android firmware versions, some of which support USB and others don't (it's a rare case, but Samsung did a while ago). We can't take it upon ourselves to recommend any hardware purchases.

Re: Helicon Remote on Netbook

Technically speaking, we can provide a Linux version, there just doesn't seem to be much interest in it to justify the cost of supporting it. Would you be interested in trying the Linux version, keeping in mind that it may not work perfectly at first? Also, the same graphics hardware limitations app...

Re: Image review issue

You're right, the fast preview time setting has no effect, we'll fix it in the next update. As for the other issue (black screen): that's odd, no one else has reported the problem and I'm sure people would notice their live view is black. So, it's not a blatant error in the app that affects everyone...

Re: Helicon Remote on Netbook

The new versions of Helicon Remote cannot run on this significantly outdated hardware, but you can try an older version of the program: http://www.heliconsoft.com/downloads/HeliconRemote3.7.3.exe

Re: sometimes results don't transfer to lightroom

This is not a problem I ever heard of, so I don't have a solution ready, sorry. It does sound like it could be a Lightroom bug because you said it may show the imported image some time later, and I'm absolutely certain our plugin is only active during the export process so any subsequent effects can...

Re: set up for Nikon D500

Good point about the tube not letting the camera focus at infinity, thanks, I should have mentioned that. And yes, I remember about the trigger function not being documented, but thanks for the reminder. Very few people seem to be interested in this, but perhaps that's because they just don't know. ...

Re: Huawei P20 Pro and FB tube programming

No, unfortunately, the built-in transmitter will not work. We’ve made tests on P20 recently, but faced problems configuring the tube due to low signal strength which is not sufficient for successful data transmission. In a couple of weeks we plan to launch sales of a modified tube that will use diff...

Re: set up for Nikon D500

I would say download the remote control app (Helicon Remote) and see how it suits. You will also find out whether or not it works on your phone. There are no special hardware requirements, your phone just needs to support USB or it won't detect the camera. Note that you need a USB OTG adapter. If yo...

Re: Nikon D500

No, Apple prohibits third-party apps from using USB interface on iOS. That's why only wireless connection is possible, and that's why you cannot use D500 with Helicon Remote on iOS (but you can on Windows, Mac or Android).
