Shutter release option
I would like to use my Sony RX10 M3 with Helicon Remote, I am not bothered about controlling aperture, shutter, EV or ISO via HR this could all be set up manually. I am using a home-brew stacking rail controlled by HR and a Trinamic stepper, what I would really like is just an isolated shutter relea...

Hi Stas,
Turned out to be the converter, I obtained the Farnell item and it worked first time.
Many thanks for your support which is appreciated.

Re: USB-RS232
Ok it's possible then that the cheap Ebay £5 usb converter could be the problem, I will get the Farnell device and hope that solves the problem.
Thanks for the reply

Re: USB-RS232
Hi Stas,
One further question please, would Helicon Focus recognise just the USB / RS232 converter without it being connected to the Trinamic controller board, at present Remote is not recognising the connection of my converter / Trinamic / stepper.
Regards
Jim

Re: Trinamic board not recognised ...
Hi Stas, I have built a rail using the RS232 Trinamic controller board and FTDI USB converter but I am unable to get Remote to recognise the controller, device manager sees the FTDI converter and I have unchecked "Load VCP"in advanced settings, the controller board is energising the steppe...

Re: USB-RS232
Thank you I have ordered one.
Could you confirm one further thing please?
Am I right in assuming that when using a Trinamic stepper this will be connected to one USB port and the camera is connected to another USB port in order to handle the shutter operation?
