Re: What is Current Version of Helicon Filter?

Thank you. I guess I can't count on HFilter recognizing that there is an upgrade available. I'll check the Change History periodically from now on. My download this morning was 5.2.8 09 April 2014.

What is Current Version of Helicon Filter?

I have v 5.2.7 Release 27 January 2014. When I check Help/Check for updates it says I am up-to-date. However I see a post from Dr Teeth talking about a v5.2.8. Is there a newer version than mine?

Re: Requirements for "Best" Helicon Filter Performance?

So, I assume that Helicon Filter 5 is still a 32 bit program. Therefore, with Win 7 64 bit, there's no need for me to go above 4GB RAM and increasing to 8GB would not serve any purpose. Is this correct?

Re: Requirements for "Best" Helicon Filter Performance?

Thanks for your reply. To access 8GB of RAM would require that I get a 64 bit machine. Does Helicon Filter use the 64 bit capability other than to access the extra memory?

Requirements for "Best" Helicon Filter Performance?

I'm about to purchase a new laptop computer, finally moving to WIN 7. Does/will a 64 bit machine make a significant difference in Helicon Filter's performance to justify the extra cost? How much ram should I include to maximize performance? How much difference will a dedicated graphics card make? I'...

Steve. Perhaps the reason you're not getting a response is because you've entered this in the wrong forum. I believe you are talking about Helicon Focus, not Helicon Filter. If so, you should switch your questions to the Helicon Focus Bugs and Support forum.

See my post in Helicon Filter bug forum. Perhaps you can use a similar work-around with you anti-virus software.

Virus Report in ZoneAlarm

Adding more intermediate points to Auto Detect would be great. Of course, I could continue to do it manually if none of the points suits me :D

Leaving Haze Compensation the way untouched is really OK as well. I could always slow my mouse speed down if I have to

Two things I would like to go backwards to the way it used to be are the Auto Detect and the Haze Compensation. I find the Auto Detect's five fixed settings to be insufficient and often wish I could slide to a value that work's best ( i.e. 17%). The Haze Compensation seems to be so extreme that I am...

The new version - 4.83 - was released on 2/6/08 and can be downloaded. I use an Alpha 700 and the new raw processing made a huge difference.

How Soon Will We Have Sony A700 Raw Support

Dan, Can we expect an update including the latest dcraw in the very near future? I also use Qimage and it has incorporated the newest dcraw and it opens Alpha 700 files without any problems. I'd really like to reduce my workflow by skipping the conversion of my raw files to tif's to use Helicon Filt...
