Re: image out of .cr3 less sharp and less saturated as image out of jpg
Your jpg's are sharpened in camera, note the 4,2,3, under the Strength, Fineness, and Threshold icons, these are "Unsharp Mask" settings/features. And, although contrast, saturation, et al. are at 0, there is still some applied to your jpg/heif files. That is why your jpg has better color ...

Re: Feature suggestion. Increase resolution thanks to many photos.
Photo Stacking would be great! I understand the complexity, but it sure would help astrophotographers, like me, who use Helicon products already. IMO, it would be something worth considering. You might find a welcome market in the the astrophotography community. Yes, it is a niche and I guess you ju...

Re: Support for Tamron lens 70-300 macro
Thank you Stas, I was hoping I was correct. My method is simple, so I really don't explore all the potential that the software has to offer. I tether my camera (5D mark IV) to my lapptop with a 10' USB 3 cable, set my camera to "one shot", manual mode, use the center focus point, and make ...

Re: Support for Tamron lens 70-300 macro
I am having an issue with my Tamron 70-300mm macro lens. The software does not control the focusing. I have my camera (Canon T6s) set to manual mode and manual focus but no response. If I'm not mistaken, your lens has to be set to AF not MF. Camera set to Manual, Yes, lens No, because HR controls f...

Re: FB Tube and Windows 10
I am having the same issue. Did you ever figure this out? I never did. Tried 4 other laptops and an Android tablet, Win XP, Win 7, and 2 flavors of Win 10 (home & pro). I worked with HeliconSoft support via email for several days and we all agreed to just return it. I needed this to work on a l...

Something Cool About HF
I am a new user, so this may be old hat to some. I was shooting a very small moth in my hall. This thing was only 1/2 inch from wing tip to wing tip. I was using a Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 L IS USM macro lens with only a 60 watt ceiling light (crazy huh?). Anyway, I shot two 6 shot stacks, one from nose...

Re: Does HR Support Continuous Shooting?
Thank you, Stas. My first choice was the tube, but it would not work with my laptop or Android tablet (I have no smartphone) so I returned it.
Thank you for the quick reply.

Does HR Support Continuous Shooting?
Hello, Stas! I'm a new user of HR and have only taken a few stacks. I am away from my gear for a few weeks and can't check for myself at this time. Will HR keep up if I set my camera to continuous shooting of say, in the range of 4 to 10 FPS? Will I gain any speed by doing that as apposed to using t...

Re: wifi tethering to Canon 5DS
I agree, Stas, it should work. When you activate the WE-1 it does show up in Windows WiFi availability connections. So if HR will detect a camera via WiFi, it should work. Although I am no longer interested, the OP probably still is. But I see they have not been in on this conversation since asking ...

Re: wifi tethering to Canon 5DS
I've been thinking about this WiFi tethering and really don't believe it would be a very good option, at least not for me: 1) The WE-1 is barely able to reach 802.11n speeds (my laptop has 802.11AC) and that is when you are within 10 feet of it, and, that is being generous. 2) To shoot a stack over ...

Re: wifi tethering to Canon 5DS
Does it work similarly to built-in Wi-Fi, by creating a Wi-Fi network to which you connect the mobile app? Yes, but it (WE-1) is just like "tethered" in that it is ad hoc or only between the camera and the device. There may be a way to connect to a WiFi infrastructure, but when I was sett...

Re: HR compatible with EOS 7D MkII?
That's odd. Could be due to a conflict with other camera-related program. In that case, exiting the offending program will solve the problem. Stas, that may be a good assumption. When I first connect my camera, Canon's EOS utility opens automatically and I have to shut it down. However, Helicon Rem...

Re: HR compatible with EOS 7D MkII?
I know this thread is a little old, but someone might still want to know. I am using it with the 7D mark II. I'm using Version 3.9.0 W at this time and it works fine on my Windows 10 laptop, but I have to restart the program or turn the camera on / off sometimes to get it to activate Live View, noth...
