Re: camera focus constant, move camera... or use focus ring?

Hi, I took a great image once by moving the focus ring. I have now become more advanced and modified an old scanner so I can move the subject away from the camera as I take the shots and it is not working nearly as well. Should I be going back to moving the focusing ring? I hadn't realised that movi...

800 slice stack

Here is a stack that I have just made with HF Lite 6. It was 800 slices, each about 0.02mm apart with the sample on a scanner arm. It has gone quite well. The white petals have gone a bit weird, but the green parts are good. :-)

Helicon Focus 6 freezes on loading 800 slices

Hi, I just upgraded to Helicon Focus 6 to avoid the 250 slice limit. I'm a bit fuddled by the new interface, so I may be doing the wrong thing. I dragged my 800 slices onto the big black window and they loaded after a lot of thinking. When I clicked "render" the programme crashed and windows closed ...

Re: ghosting

This is another attempt at uploading the image. Do you think I just need to make the maximum number of slices and have them exactly the same distance apart?

Thanks!

ghosting

Hi, I wondered if I might ask a quick question about ghosting that I'm getting on my photos? I am taking close-ups with a Canon 5d MkII and a Canon MP-E 5x macro lens. The camera is very stable and well anchored, and the plant sample is attached to the arm of a scanner which I am driving with a Rasp...
