Re: Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7"?
Yes, before installing DslrDashboard, I tried to use directly the Nikon camera after reboot but the system Image viewer was always automatically starting first, before I can run Helicon Remote. Even after I closed this image viewer it was impossible to link the Nikon camera to Helicon Remote. Such p...

Re: Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7"?
New test with Nikon D7000 and D90, starting directly with Helicon Remote after reboot. The system asks which software to activate for the USB connection: Image Viewer (the one with flowers) or DslrDashboard? I cancel and open Helicon Remote: the Nikon camera is seen and works as it should. I close H...

Re: Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7"?
I made a short test this morning with the Nikon D90, after installing DslrDashboard 0.30.15 Beta. When running first DslrDashboard and closing it, then Helicon Remote sees the D90 and works fine with it. I didn't try with and without DslrDashboard after rebooting the Galaxy Tab for reproducing the c...

Re: Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7"?
Helicon Remote works well in the Samsung Tab 2.7 (factory setting, not rooted), but only with my Canon cameras (1000D, 1100D, 550D). The Nikon ones (D90 & D7000) are not seen and they freezes the software. The 7" screen is quite comfortable and the ergonomy is fine. Great work!

Re: Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7"?
Meanwhile, I have found a good opportunity on eBay; I shall tell you soon . The microSD card slot is missing in the Nexus 7, this is the reason why I have preferred the Samsung.

Re: Macro lens question
According to my experience, the most important criteria is how fine are the steps of the focus motor in the lens or in the body (for Nikon cameras). For example, the recent Canon 60mm EF-S f/2.8 Macro lens has finer steps (= more steps for the same depth) than the the old EF 50mm f/2.5, that makes a...

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7"?
Has some one experienced Helicon Remote with a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7" (+ USB adapter)? Does it work (USB controler and 1024 x 600 screen)? This could provide a small and light equipment for working in the field.
Thanks for advices!

Re: OBJ export
You need to calibrate the Z axe since Helicon Focus has no way for knowing the interval between each step. As part of the project “Tracéologie tridimensionnelle” granted by Lascarbx (http://lascarbx.labex-univ-bordeaux.fr/Les-actions-de-recherche-en-cours/Traceologie-tridimensionnelle-T3D,i634.htm) ...

Re: effective or nominal
Thanks, Karlmera, for pointing out this significant difference between Nikon and Canon camera! So far, I didn't understand why at 1:1 using a 60mm EFS Canon macro objective diffraction was coming as soon as f/8 with the sensor of the EOS 550D while the Nikon equivalent was tolerant up to f/16 (60mm ...

Re: Does Helicon Focus compensate for "off-vertical"
A stereoscope is far from being perfect for photomacrography but taking into account some parameters can help: http://www.lenaturaliste.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=60&t=545 http://legeophile.free.fr/download/article%201%20Photo%20MM%20stereomicro%20PHoussin%20v2%20071108.pdf (in French but automat...

Re: remote does not communicate with Nikon D-5000 and Stack
I bought an additional motor ( http://www.cognisys-inc.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=24&products_id=125&osCsid=8dd9cc19d59791b5b7ab0c83944d2a9f ) that I coupled to the microscope via a belt such as in this example http://www.flickr.com/photos/13084997@N03/5507615574/ , however the motor...

Re: remote does not communicate with Nikon D-5000 and Stack
I currently use Helicon Remote + Stack Shot controller + StackShot Stepper Motor coupled to the fine focus knob of my BH2 microscope, with a Canon 1000D and Nikon D90 SLR. The system works perfectly if the interconnect cable between the motor and the controller is strongly inserted on both ends. But...

Re: remote kills canon 500D
Finally back from Canon Maintenance (more than one month for a complete repair under warranty ), where for the second time they changed the electronic board, and my Canon EOS 550D seems now to work fine with Helicon Remote (2.3.14.w / Win 7 64) as it should. I shall have to test it longer for ...

Re: remote kills canon 500D
I am the other 550D user who reported a crash of the camera by using Helicon Remote (Win 7 64): Err 70 more and more frequent and then the camera totally blocked even battery disconnected. :? Sent to Canon Maintenance (Vilma Sud Ouest, in France), where the electronic board has been replaced under w...
