Ha haa... I didn't know that!
I don't think I have ever zoomed in Live View - in fact I seldom use Live View.
I wonder why they forbid it?
Thanks for clearing that up.

Can't pan to edge when zoomed
Using Windows - Canon 5DIII - Canon Macro 100mm f2.8L IS. Using trial version. When zoomed to x5 in live view I am unable to pan close to the edge. Is this normal behaviour - and if so why? If I capture a preview image I am able to pan to the edge - so it's not a show stopper. Also, I believe there ...

Re: Scroll after Zoom
Stas,
If you notice in my earlier post - it was also happening with the 7D.

One thing I forgot to add was camera firmware version - it's 1.0.7 - which is not the latest version I now realise. I'll update and try ag...

Re: Landscape Photography
Foreground object may mask the background when it comes out of focus. This is optical effect and the only way to minize it is to use smaller aperture (f16). Even with F16 you will need several shots to cover DOF from macro to infinity. Yes - I guess it also doesn't help if the foreground plants are...

Re: Scroll after Zoom
Yes - I imagined the laggyness was due to the Camera - I can live with that.
But not being able to scroll to the edge is a bit of a problem when checking focus.
Happens on both the 5DIII and the 7D.
Is it just my setup or do others see this too?
Thanks,
RzB

Using Windows 7 64bit - Canon 5D MkIII & 7D - Helicon Remote 2.4.4 System i7 930, 12G Ram, 128 SSD System drive. Ahh... I seem to have spoken too soon :-) I am unable to switch off Live View. Also, when I close the window Helicon Remote hangs and doesn't close. I have tested on the 7D and it wor...

Scroll after Zoom
Using Windows 7 64bit - Canon 5D MkIII & 7D - Helicon Remote 2.4.4 System i7 930, 12G Ram, 128 SSD System drive. After zooming in Live View I have found that I can scroll around the screen by holding the left mouse button down. I'm not sure if this is documented in the help, but I can't find it....

Re: ipad
I too have an iPad2 and I agree it would be a great platform for this application. It's really unfortunate that Apple have made this device so restricted - so many things get me gnashing my teeth and pulling my hair out. I'm totally fed up with it, it's going to eBay soon, and will be replaced by an...

Re: Landscape Photography
Hmm - I did not have very much success with this. I was hoping that I could get some flora in the foreground and the landscape in the background both in focus. I just used 2 shots - but it really didn't work. Not surprising really as I think Helicon had to make up quite a bit of information that it ...

Re: Compatibility with the Canon 5D MarkIII
It seems to be working for me - I'm only using the trial version at the moment.
I have done very little testing but it seems OK after an initial glitch where the "small" focussing steps were not working correctly.
Restarting seems to have fixed that.
Using Win 7 64bit.
